WOW. I just went back and read some of the older posts about people's memories--Steve Heckel's family i remember, maybe from Trinity Methodist? He mentioned Alan Shearer, my sister Barbara Reid was friends with his sister, Letty Ann Shearer. And boy, that little old brick library was my favorite place in town!

And yes, I remember the old building at Franklin Sherman, I was in there for 5th and 6th grades. 5th grade upstairs, and we had a fire drill one day, and had to go outside i don't remember if it was stairs we walked down or a tube!! Can't imagine us sliding down it! But maybe we did. And for some strange reason, when we walked through that classroom (mine was next door) there was a cow eyeball in a jar! Must have been someone's show and tell.

And by the way, my maiden name is Reid--Amy Reid Paris. LHS class of 70.

Thanks for the memories!!

Hi Amy!! I remember you - we were in the same class. The Heckels did go to the Meth Church. They lost their mom in the 80s, their dad in 97, oldest brother a year or 2 later and Steve's twin sister Ann died of a heart attack last fall. So Steve and his sister Jan are the only ones left. Steve was at VT when I was and my Mom took us out to eat when she'd come down and his dad, Dick, used to take me out whne he'd ome to PA when I lived in the Valley Forge area. They had an old family place there. I'm still in touch with Steve occasionally, but have not seen him in about 10 years. He had some nice memories to add and I appreciate it.

I really like hearing form folks. If you check back just a couple of days, there's a post from Joan Roberts. Beth McClellan said she'd post soon and I hope some others will too. I know we're on Facebook, but I hope this gives a variety of people a place to tell some great stories, remind us of wonderful places and have some fun!! Carol Parker Smith
