Election Day - Go Vote ! !

GO VOTE ! !

Do we from McLean understand the responsibility and privilege of voting more than the general public? Did we grow up in an area so populated with various government employees, including Senators and Congressmen, that we're too casual about it? Or did it have an impact at all? What do you think?

I had (have) my favorite politician's kid - Mark Gibbons, if you're out there, please drop a line!!

I'm on my way to vote now and then I'm volunteering to be a Line Captain and help people waiting to vote. Not too bad here. Lines are about 10 minutes, so I've heard. But I want to do my part in this historic election.

Today, you know what to do, just do it!!!

GO VOTE ! !

I'm Carol Smith, and I approved this message.

Hi, Carol,

I went by to vote before work and found a line that looked like it would be over an hour, so I went to work and came back just before lunchtime. There were only two people ahead of me in the A-C line (half the lines had no one in them). I did have to wait a couple of minutes for an open machine, but then did my duty and went back to work.

I think many of us around here learned that voting was just something you did, like going to school. When the time came, I never thought about not voting.

Yeah...that's what I was asking. Were we more vigilant or more apathetic becasue we were more aware? I'm glad to hear that you feel as I do...it just is something you do. It's like going to college, there was never a discussion about IF I would go, it was only a question of WHERE I would go. There wasn't even a discussion until application time of what I'd study, but I knew I was going. And I know I'll always vote.
